My childhood memories and love of antiques and primitives have been the driving force behind the creation of Back in Thyme. My interest in antiques began at the early age of 16.

I craved that simple, wholesome lifestyle, a break from the normal rat race of today's society. A primitive home surrounded by antiques and unique conversation pieces that welcomed others and provided peace and tranquility, was permanently etched in my mind.

My mother, was a wonderful inspiration to these goals as she bought and sold antiques most of her life.

We began holding Christmas and Fall Harvest shows at our log home in Horseshoe Valley, just north of Barrie,Ontario. Not only was I addicted to antiques, but the desire to tie it in with primitive home accessories just seemed like the right move. I am still not sure if it should be considered a blessing or a curse!!

In 1985, I met my husband who gave many hours of his time to fulfill my dreams. A log cabin restoration was his first undertaking. It was, and still is, the setting that I have always envisioned. Thank you David !

He built our first rustic store here on our property in Horseshoe Valley in 2001. As we continued to grow three Back in Thyme stores were opened. In 2006 we consolidated all businesses and moved into a beautiful historic building in Coldwater, Ontario where the business still resides.

We are in hopes of assisting others to find the simple lifestyle that each of us so deserve. We want to provide you with the source of unique collectables, antiques/ reproductions and encouragement to insprire a retreat of your own.
